I actually had a weird mole on my arm that was itching a lot and I freaked out completely. Turns out it was just dry skin, but my doc told me that some skin cancer spots can definitely itch or bleed, so it's always better to get them checked.

I totally get it, noticing a new spot on your skin and wondering if it is dangerous can be so scary and stressful. Yes, some types of skin cancer can feel itchy or tender, so please don't hesitate to consult a dermatologist just to be safe and ease your mind.

I am not an expert, but having PCOS makes me very conscious of my skin changes and moles. I have read that while many skin cancers are painless and don't itch, some lesions can feel itchy or irritated. It is always best to let a dermatologist evaluate it.

If you have an itchy spot, don't keep scratching it or applying random home creams. The most practical thing is to watch it for a week, and if the itching persists or the spot changes shape, visit a local government hospital or clinic where dermatology charges are very nominal.

At 53, my skin is constantly dry and itching, so I'd be running to the clinic daily if that was the only sign! But jokes aside, yes, abnormal spots can sometimes itch. It's best to have a doctor look at it instead of guessing.

I use a skin monitoring feature on my wellness app to track my moles. It mentions that itching, bleeding, or oozing can indeed be signs of atypical lesions. If your tracker or your own eyes spot these changes, book a dermatology consult immediately.

Don't try applying home remedies like neem paste or turmeric on an itchy mole hoping it will go away. If it is something serious, you are only delaying diagnosis. Get a proper clinical examination done by a qualified skin specialist.

An itchy spot could just be a mosquito having a party on your arm, so don't assume the worst immediately! But yes, if the spot looks weird and won't stop itching, let a doctor take a peek. Better safe than sorry!
