I had a similar worry and asked my physician during my checkup at Aster Medcity. He laughed and said there is absolutely no clinical evidence that occasional use of scented candles causes cancer. If you have asthma or lung issues, just consult your doctor about air irritants.

Haan na, internet par kuch bhi likhte hain aur hum darr jaate hain. Normal candles se cancer nahi hota goad. Bas saste wale mat lo aur room ki khidki thodi khuli rakha karo taaki breathing ka problem na ho.

No, they don't. Unless you are burning 50 candles in a tiny, unventilated closet every single day, there is no risk. Just use common sense, keep your windows open occasionally, and don't waste time stressing over WhatsApp rumors.

In scientific terms, burning anything releases trace particulate matter, but the exposure level from scented candles is far too low to cause cancer. If you experience respiratory distress or allergies, it's best to consult a pulmonologist to understand your specific triggers.

This is just sensationalized internet news. Scented candles don't cause cancer. If you're that worried about air quality, invest in a good air purifier for your room instead of throwing away your candles.

I just bought my first vanilla scented candle and now I am a bit scared after reading this. Are soy candles safer than the regular paraffin ones? Please let me know what you all use.

Beta, don't worry about these things. If you are worried about chemicals, you can make your own natural diffuser using camphor or cardamoms in boiling water. It makes the house smell lovely and is completely safe and traditional.
