Do saunas help prevent heart attacks?

I read an article about saunas and their potential health benefits. Do saunas help prevent heart attacks? My father had heart issues, so I'm always looking for ways to stay healthy.

I know how terrifying it is to worry about heart health, especially if you have a family history. Sauna sessions can feel very relaxing and help lower stress, but please don't rely on them as a shield against heart attacks. It is a very scary anxiety to carry, but talking to a cardiologist really helps ease the mind.

Let's be real, a sauna is just a relaxation tool, not a medical cure. It can temporarily improve circulation, but it won't clear blocked arteries. If you want to prevent heart attacks, clean up your diet, stop smoking, and hit the gym regularly.

Having recently recovered from a mild cardiac event, my doctor told me that extreme heat from saunas can actually strain the heart if you already have issues. Please don't assume they are a preventive measure. Stick to light walks and the medicines your cardiologist gave you.

There are some studies from Finland about sauna benefits, but realistically, most of us don't have time or access to daily saunas. Focus your limited time on managing stress, sleeping 7 hours, and doing 20 minutes of cardio. That is much more practical and proven.

I always overthink my heart rate and was reading about saunas too, but then I got scared that the heat would make my heart beat too fast! It's so confusing. It is probably safer to just stick to calm breathing exercises and let a proper doctor guide us.

Saunas are expensive and not easily available for everyone. Instead of looking for these fancy solutions, just control your oil intake, walk for 45 minutes daily, and keep your diabetes in check. These simple steps are the real way to protect your heart.

They are great for relaxation and flushing out toxins through sweat! But definitely don't skip your cardio workouts and green veggies for heart health. Take care and stay healthy!

I tried all sorts of things like garlic water and ginger tea for my husband's heart health, but we learned that nothing replaces proper medical checkups. Saunas might make you feel good and light, but they cannot fix high cholesterol or blocked valves. Do a proper checkup first.

Welcome to the group! Saunas do help with mild vasodilation and stress relief, which is good for general blood flow, but they are not a standalone preventive measure for heart attacks. Always combine relaxation with annual cardiac screenings and a balanced diet.

Don't believe these online articles claiming saunas can replace cardiovascular medicine. If you have high blood pressure or a family history of heart disease, you must get an ECG and Echo done. Never use heat therapy as a substitute for real medical advice.
