Do salmon feel pain?

I've been having a discussion with friends about how much animals feel. Do salmon feel pain when they are caught or processed? I'm trying to understand the ethics behind eating fish.

I was actually reading a research paper on this last night out of pure curiosity. Studies show they have the necessary receptors and nervous system to register pain. It's quite fascinating but also a bit sad to think about.

Biologically yes, they have nerves so they definitely feel distress. If you are worried about the ethical side of eating fish, you can easily switch to vegetarian omega-3 sources like flaxseeds or walnuts. It's much cheaper and very healthy too.

Jee bilkul, jaan toh sabhi me hoti hai na babu. Choti machli ho ya badi, dard toh sabko hota hi hai jab unhe pakda jata hai. Humein har jeev ka aadar karna chahiye.

Scientific consensus points to yes, they do experience pain. If you're tracking your macros and trying to avoid fish for ethical reasons, my fitness app shows that chia seeds and seaweed supplements are great alternatives to keep your brain health on point.

They probably feel pain, but honestly, looking at my rising cholesterol reports, my doctor is the one causing me pain by banning all my favorite foods. At this point, even the salmon might be having a better time than me on this strict diet.
