Do redheads have a higher pain tolerance?

A colleague of mine was discussing how redheads might have a higher pain tolerance compared to others. I'd never heard this before. Is this an actual thing or just a common belief?

Don't believe everything you read on random blogs about genetic pain limits. It is always safer to verify these scientific claims with a qualified doctor who understands clinical physiology.

I really understand how it feels when people don't take your pain sensitivity seriously. It can be emotionally exhausting, but please know your feelings and physical discomfort are completely valid.

I don't know about redheads, but my tolerance for anything is zero when I haven't slept well. Currently survival is running entirely on black coffee and hope.
