Do radiologists get cancer?

As a medical professional, I often interact with radiologists, and we sometimes discuss occupational hazards. Given their constant exposure to radiation, I've always wondered if there's a higher risk for them. Do radiologists get cancer more frequently than other medical staff?

Listen, they are doctors, not fools. They wear heavy lead aprons and sit behind thick protective glass shields. Their exposure is closely monitored, so they don't just get sick like that.

They actually have very strict safety rules and wear special badges to measure radiation levels! So they stay very safe while helping us get better. 👍

If radiologists got cancer easily, nobody would pay crores for that medical seat! Joking aside, their safety protocols are top-notch these days.

Don't stress too much, yaar! Modern radiology labs have amazing safety systems in place. They are totally fine, so you don't need to worry about them or your own scans.

Hospital occupational health departments strictly track radiation dosages for all staff. There is no significant data showing radiologists have higher cancer rates than any other profession.

Haan na, they take so many precautions while doing our X-rays. They even stand in a completely different room during the scan, so their risk is very low.
