Do popsicles help with fever?

My child has a slight fever and isn't eating much. My mother-in-law suggested giving him popsicles to keep him hydrated and comfortable. Do popsicles actually help reduce fever or just provide temporary relief and fluids?

They don't cure the fever, but honestly, a cold orange or mango popsicle feels amazing when your mouth tastes completely bitter during sickness. It’s a great way to get some fluids in when you absolutely hate the taste of plain water.

Haan na, popsicles can really soothe a sore throat and help you stay hydrated during fever. Just make sure they are not made with too much artificial sugar, ho na? Simple homemade fruit juice popsicles are much better.

In our family, we usually give warm rasam or herbal tulsi tea during a fever to help soothe the body. Cold things are traditionally avoided, but our doctor mentioned that cold popsicles can actually help keep a dehydrated child hydrated if they refuse water. We trust the doctor, so a little bit of cold fluids is fine if they prefer it.

When I had a bad viral fever last year, my throat was burning and I couldn't swallow anything. Eating basic water-based ice pops helped numb my throat and kept my fluid levels up. It didn't bring my temperature down, but it made me feel much more comfortable.

When my 6-year-old had a high fever and refused to drink even a sip of water, I froze electrolyte water into little popsicles. It was a lifesaver to prevent dehydration. It won't cure the infection, but keeping them hydrated is the most important part of recovery.
