Do piles make you fart?

Ever since my piles started bothering me, I feel like I'm farting much more than usual. It's a bit embarrassing, especially when I'm out. Can piles somehow affect your bowel movements or gas production in a way that makes you pass more wind?

Well, piles themselves don't make you fart, but the constipation and gas-heavy diet that caused them definitely will! I had to cut down on my spicy street food cravings and heavy chana masala to fix both issues together.

I have been feeling so bloated and gassy since my piles flared up, and I was wondering if anyone else felt the same? It feels like the gas gets trapped because of the swelling down there. Is that normal or should I worry?

Don't worry, piles don't directly produce gas. But because of the pain, we sometimes hold back bowel movements, which leads to fermentation and bloating. Just eat simple ghar ka khana and don't suppress the urge to go.

With my PCOS, I already deal with digestive issues, and when I had a piles scare, the bloating was real. It is usually just general gut issues rather than the piles itself causing gas. Try keeping a food diary to see what triggers it.

No, piles are just swollen veins, they don't create gas. But if you are bloated, passing gas can put pressure on the painful area. Take a mild laxative like Isabgol with warm water at night to keep your digestion smooth.

My son had this issue when he was constipated and he was passing a lot of gas too. I started giving him simple fiber-rich foods and oats in the morning. Once the stomach cleared up, both the gas and the piles irritation stopped.
