Do piles burst?
Having recently developed piles, I'm finding them quite painful and uncomfortable. My friend mentioned that sometimes they can 'burst', and now I'm quite worried about that happening.

It is such a painful and embarrassing topic to discuss, and the fear of them bursting is so real. I used to cry in the washroom because of the severe pain and pressure. Yes, thrombosed hemorrhoids can sometimes open up and bleed, but it actually relieves the intense pressure pain.
If a pile starts bleeding heavily, don't wait for it to become an emergency as hospital visits can be very expensive. It's better to spend Rs. 500 on a specialist consultation now rather than paying thousands later in emergency care. Plan your treatment early.
Haan yaar, agar thrombosed piles ho toh bohot pressure banne par woh burst ho sakte hain aur blood nikal sakta hai. Par usse darna mat, blood nikalne par pain kam ho jata hai. Ek baar doc ko dikha lo taaki infection na ho, thik hai na?
Oh god, the thought of this is so terrifying! Please don't panic, but keep a close eye on the bleeding. If it doesn't stop in a few minutes or if you feel dizzy, please call someone and go to the nearest clinic right away.
I ignored my bleeding piles for months thinking it would heal on its own, until I became severely anemic and had to be rushed for blood transfusions. If your piles are swelling or bleeding, don't wait for them to burst, go get them treated by a professional now.
I was reading about this because my dad has this issue. Apparently, when a blood clot forms in an external hemorrhoid (thrombosed), the pressure can make it rupture and bleed. It sounds scary but is actually a known clinical event. Still needs a doctor's checkup.
Please be very careful. My brother had a pile that ruptured and it got severely infected because he tried to manage it at home. If you see sudden bleeding or feel severe pain, please go to a general surgeon immediately to get it cleaned and treated.
