Do people die in their sleep?

Just saw a movie where a character died peacefully in their sleep. It got me thinking, does this actually happen in real life? Can people just die in their sleep?

While it is a scary thought, dying in sleep is usually related to underlying, undiagnosed health conditions. If you or a loved one have symptoms like severe snoring, chest tightness, or frequent waking up gasping for air, please get a thorough medical checkup done immediately.

Yes, unfortunately, sudden deaths in sleep can happen due to silent heart issues, severe sleep apnea, or strokes. As someone managing high blood pressure, I cannot stress enough the importance of regular checkups. Keeping your vitals monitored is key to preventing major health emergencies.

While we cannot control everything, eating a light dinner and avoiding heavy, greasy meals late at night can reduce stress on your digestive and cardiovascular systems. Keeping your diet clean and walking a bit before bed is a good, healthy habit to protect your body.

I was actually researching this online and found that most people who pass away in their sleep have underlying heart conditions that were never detected. It made me realize we should all get regular health screenings instead of just assuming we are fine.

I sometimes lie awake at night worrying about this very thing, especially when my heart beats a bit fast. It's so scary to think about. Does anyone else get these anxious thoughts before sleeping, or is it just me?
