Do pain relievers cause constipation?

I regularly take pain relievers for my chronic headaches. Lately, I've noticed I'm constipated more often than usual. Could it be that pain relievers cause constipation?

Our bodies are very sensitive to these strong chemicals, so it is natural for the digestion to get disturbed. Stay positive, keep your mind calm, and feed your body simple fresh fruits. Nature has a way of healing everything if we give it time.

Yes, they absolutely cause severe constipation. Drinking hot water with a spoonful of ghee at night helped me get relief when I was on pain meds.

With PCOS, my bowel movements are already a bit unpredictable, and pain relievers definitely slow things down for me. I can't speak for everyone, but it is quite common. Please check with your doctor before trying any strong laxatives.

Look, there is no need to buy expensive syrups. Just increase your daily salad intake, eat some ripe papaya in the morning, and drink at least three liters of water. Simple home changes work best when you are taking these heavy tablets.

Don't blindly follow home remedies or random tips you read on online forums for this. Constipation can sometimes worsen or indicate other issues, so it is best to verify with a qualified doctor what is safe to take alongside your pain medication.
