Do non stick pans give you cancer?

My family uses non-stick pans daily for cooking almost everything. I recently heard a rumour that the coating on these pans can release harmful chemicals and potentially cause cancer. Is there any truth to this claim, and should I stop using them?

Don't believe all the panic on social media about non-stick pans. Modern Teflon pans are PFOA-free and safe under normal cooking temperatures. If you have concerns, ask an oncologist or toxicologist instead of trusting random viral reels.

I got so anxious after reading that heating Teflon too high releases toxic fumes. Does anyone else get scared using non-stick for high-heat cooking like making rotis or frying?

Haan na, starting me sabko darr lagta hai. Actually, modern non-stick pans me dangerous PFOA chemical nahi hota, so normal use pe cancer ka khatra nahi hai. Bas scratch wale pans use mat karo.

Hey, don't stress too much! Modern pans are quite safe if used right. Just don't heat them empty on high flame, and discard them once the coating starts scratching off. Switch to cast iron if you want absolute peace of mind.

Personally, I switched to cast iron and stainless steel cookware just to be safe. I don't know the exact science of cancer links, but cooking without worrying about scratches on Teflon makes me feel much better in the kitchen.

I was researching this and found out that since 2013, non-stick pans are made without PFOA, which was the harmful chemical linked to health issues. So, as long as your pan isn't ancient and scratched, it won't cause cancer.

I had this worry for my family's health too. Modern non-stick is safe, but to be secure, I never use metal spoons that scrape the coating. Once the pan shows deep scratches, I replace it immediately.
