Do monster energy drinks cause kidney stones?

I regularly consume Monster energy drinks for my night shifts to stay alert. My uncle recently told me that too much of these can lead to kidney stones. Is it true, do monster energy drinks cause kidney stones?

Honestly, at our age even drinking normal water too fast feels risky! But jokes apart, those high caffeine energy cans have so much sugar and sodium. If you chug them daily instead of actual water, your kidneys will definitely protest soon.

I completely freaked out last year when I was drinking these during late-night office shifts and got mild back pain. Actually, my doctor told me that one-off drinks won't instantly give you stones. Just don't make it a daily habit and keep drinking lots of water.

Getting treated for kidney stones in private hospitals can cost easily 40k to 50k rupees nowadays. Better to save that money and just buy simple water and fruits instead of expensive energy cans. A basic kidney function test in local labs costs around 500 rs if you want to be sure.

I asked my urologist at Kokilaben Hospital about this because my younger brother drinks them a lot. The doc clearly said that high sodium, dehydration, and heavy caffeine can increase stone risk. Better to get a basic ultrasound if you already have some burning or pain.

Hehe yes, they definitely aren't the best friends for your kidneys! 🙈 Excess caffeine makes you dehydrated, which is how stones start forming. Grab a cool glass of buttermilk instead, much safer and cheaper! 🥛

As someone managing high BP, I stay far away from these high-caffeine energy drinks. They raise your blood pressure and strain your organs, which indirectly affects kidney function. Please track your salt intake and get regular blood-urine tests.

Look yaar, simple thing is these canned drinks are chemicals and excess sugar. Why play with your health? Just stop drinking them daily, switch to nimbu paani or coconut water, and save your kidneys.
