Do mammograms cause cancer?

My sister is hesitant to get her regular mammogram because she heard it exposes you to radiation. She's worried about cancer risk. Do mammograms cause cancer in any way, or are they considered safe?

Let your mind be at peace, dear. These tests are designed by science to protect us, not harm us. Stay positive and go for your checkup with a calm heart.

Please don't believe Whatsapp forwards or random internet blogs saying these tests are dangerous. Go to a proper radiologist or your gynac and let them explain the actual science to you.

I cannot comment on the medical side of it, but my wife has been doing it yearly on her doctor's advice. We have never faced any issues from the scans, they just help us stay tension-free.

Hey, I totally get why you'd ask this because there is so much random stuff online! But actually, my mom gets it done regularly and her doctor said the radiation is almost equal to what we get from just walking around in daily life. So it is super safe, don't worry.

I used to feel very anxious about radiation too, so I understand your worry. But taking deep breaths and trusting the doctor helps. Mammograms are very safe, and keeping our body relaxed during the scan makes it much easier.
