Do liver lesions go away?

My brother recently had a scan and they found a small lesion on his liver. We are quite stressed about it. Do liver lesions ever just disappear on their own, or do they always require treatment?

Whether they go away depends entirely on the type of lesion, some benign ones like hemangiomas just stay there without causing harm. For my high BP, I have learned that regular checkups are key. Please get an ultrasound or MRI done as advised by your doctor to monitor them.

It is incredibly stressful when you first see the word 'lesion' on your scan report, I remember crying for days when it happened to me. But many times, these are just harmless cysts that don't need any treatment at all. Please hold on and let your doctor explain the results to you calmly.

Dealing with any internal health issue requires regular monitoring, just like I do for my thyroid. If you have been diagnosed with a liver lesion, make sure to get follow-up scans exactly when your doctor recommends. It is the best way to ensure everything is safe and under control.

Please do not ignore this or wait for it to go away on its own. I once ignored a dull pain in my abdomen thinking it was just gas, and it turned out to be a major health issue later. Get a proper specialist's opinion immediately and do all the required scans.

Consult a gastroenterologist

I was looking this up online because my uncle had a similar finding on his ultrasound report. From what I read, many liver lesions are completely non-cancerous and some can shrink or disappear, while others just need regular tracking. Definitely consult a gastroenterologist for peace of mind.

Some harmless ones stay forever without issues, but you really need a doctor to confirm what type it is.
