Do liver detox tablets work?

After a heavy weekend, my buddy told me to take some liver detox tablets. He swears by them. Does taking liver detox tablets actually work to 'cleanse' your system, or is it all just in the head?

I have seen many of my friends run after these modern liver capsules in old age, but nothing works like simple home-cooked food. My doctor told me years ago that a clean routine is the only true detox. Don't worry too much, just keep your diet light and walk regularly.

Instead of tablets, thoda homemade lukewarm water with lemon in the morning is much better for digestion. But if you have constant nausea or yellowing of eyes, please don't rely on these tips. Go straight to a clinic and get it checked by a professional.

Being a diabetic, I have to be extremely careful with anything I digest because even herbal supplements can affect my blood sugar and organ functions. Always check the ingredients list on these detox tablets. It is much safer to consult your diabetologist before taking any new pill.

My college-going son also got influenced by fitness influencers and wanted to buy these liver detox tablets. I strictly told him no and took him to our family doctor, who explained that these are mostly marketing gimmicks. Just give them fresh home-cooked meals and keep them hydrated, that is enough.

Haha, I wish these tablets actually worked so I could eat all the bhature and biryani I want without any guilt! But honestly, there is no shortcut to a heavy weekend of eating. Just balance it out with simple khichdi the next day instead of relying on these magic pills.
