Do kidney stones smell?

My urine has had a weird, somewhat strong smell lately, and I'm a bit worried about kidney stones. Could kidney stones themselves cause a noticeable smell in your pee?

Usually, the stone itself doesn't have a strong smell, but if your urine smells really bad or foul, it could mean you have a urinary tract infection or kidney complication. I ignored that smell once and ended up with a severe infection, so please get it checked by a doctor soon.

The stones themselves don't typically have a strong odor, but a strong smell in your urine can sometimes happen if there is an infection. Please consult a doctor to be safe.

Nahi beta, patthari me alag se koi khushboo ya badboo nahi hoti. Lekin agar peshab me bahut tez badboo aa rahi hai toh doctor ko dikhana chahiye. Paani khoob pijiye aur apna dhyan rakhiye.

I have collected a couple of these painful little things, and honestly, they don't smell like anything once washed. But the urine you pass them with? Now that can smell quite strong if you are dehydrated or have an infection!

My family always says to drink barley water to clear out any bad urine odor, but the stone itself does not have a smell. If you are experiencing a strange smell with pain, please visit a doctor to rule out any infection.

A clean kidney stone doesn't actually have a smell. But if there is a foul odor when passing it, it is usually due to concentrated minerals or a bacterial infection in the tract. Drink plenty of water and let a doctor do a quick urine test.

The stone itself doesn't usually smell bad. However, from what I know about body imbalances, if there is an active infection or concentrated urine around it, that can cause a strong odor. It is best to have a doctor check your urine sample.
