Do kidney stones make your pee smell?

I've noticed my pee has started to smell a bit unusual recently, not like a UTI. I'm wondering if kidney stones could be the reason for a change in urine odor?

Smelly urine can be a sign of an infection associated with the stone. Don't try drinking random herbal juices suggested on the internet to cure the smell. Go get a proper urine culture test done under a doctor's guidance.

Yes, they can make it smell strong, especially if there is a UTI or the urine is highly concentrated. I ignored this sign along with a mild backache and ended up with a severe kidney infection. Please get a urine routine test done immediately.

Haan beta, jab pathri hoti hai toh peshab se tez gandh aa sakti hai kyunki paani kam hota hai aur gandagi jam jaati hai. Khoob saara paani piyo aur thoda nariyal paani bhi liya karo. Bhagwan sab theek karega.

The smell is usually due to concentrated urine or mineral buildup. Keeping yourself highly hydrated is key; you should drink enough water so your urine stays clear. If you feel fine otherwise, light walking can also help keep things moving.

My urine has had a very strong, unusual smell since yesterday along with mild side pain. Did anyone else experience this with their kidney stones, or should I be worried about something else?

I got so scared when I noticed my urine smelled different, I immediately started googling kidney failure. Honestly, it is usually just because the urine is concentrated or there is a minor UTI. Just drink lots of water and see a doctor to be safe.

Drinking fresh barley water or lemon juice daily can help reduce the strong smell and clear the urine. But if the smell is accompanied by high fever or severe pain, please consult a doctor as it could be a kidney infection.

A strong smell often means concentrated urine or a mild infection. Instead of going for expensive specialist consultations first, get a simple urine routine and microscopic test done at a local lab for 150-200 rupees. It will show if there is any infection clearly.

I completely understand how worrying it is when you notice changes like smelly or cloudy urine. It makes you feel very anxious about your health. But rest assured, it is a known symptom of kidney stones and concentrated urine, so please consult a doctor to ease your mind.

Yes, concentrated urine or an underlying infection can cause a strong odor when you have stones. It is very common, so don't worry. Just focus on drinking 3-4 liters of water daily to flush the system.

Haan na, the urine smells quite strong sometimes when you have stones, mostly because we don't drink enough water. Try to drink lots of water, ho na, it really helps to dilute the urine and reduce the smell.
