Do kidney stones make your back hurt?

For the past few days, I've had a persistent dull ache in my lower back, almost like a constant pressure. My uncle suggested it might be a kidney problem. Do kidney stones really make your back hurt?

Yes, they absolutely do. It is a sharp, stabbing pain in your lower back, usually on one side. Don't waste time trying to stretch it out thinking it's a muscle pull, get a doctor to check it.

I panicked so hard thinking I slipped a disc or damaged my spine because the back pain was so sudden. But it was just a 5mm stone. Once it passed, the back pain completely vanished, so don't worry.

I am experiencing a dull ache in my lower right back since yesterday. Is it normal for kidney stone pain to start like that, or does it always start as a very sharp pain suddenly?

Yes, that lower back ache is the classic sign of kidney stones. It can be really uncomfortable, but don't worry, it goes away once the stone passes. Stay positive.

Of course it hurts your back, that is the main spot where the kidney is located. If the pain is shooting from the back to your front lower area, it is almost certainly a stone. Go get a sonography done.

The back pain was so draining that I ended up crying in bed for hours. It really takes a toll on your mental peace when you can't find any comfortable position. Your feelings of frustration are completely valid.

In my case, the pain started as a mild ache in my lower left back and then suddenly became very sharp. It didn't feel like normal muscle pain at all. It only got better after my doctor gave me specific medicine.

I ignored my lower back ache for weeks thinking it was just from sitting at my office chair. It turned out to be a large kidney stone that was blocking my urine flow. Please get an ultrasound done before it becomes a bigger issue.

I know how terrifying it feels when your lower back starts hurting out of nowhere. You immediately start fearing the worst, but please know that this is a very standard kidney stone symptom. Take a deep breath, you will be fine once the doctor checks it.

Yes, severe back pain from stones is very common and the stress can cause your blood pressure to spike. I always make sure to get my kidney health checked during my regular BP checkups to avoid these sudden back pain episodes.

Haan na, the back pain is really terrible with stones. It feels like a constant heavy pressure on one side of the lower back. It is best to rest and drink warm water until you see the doctor.

Yes, it makes your back hurt so much that you can't even sit comfortably to enjoy a good meal. I had to skip my favorite Sunday biryani because of that nasty flank pain. Make sure to drink tons of water to flush it.
