Do kidney stones hurt on both sides?

For the past few days, I've had a dull ache on both sides of my lower back. My friend mentioned kidney stones, but I thought they only caused pain on one side. Can kidney stones cause pain on both sides simultaneously?

For me, it was only on the right side near my hip. Sometimes the pain kinda travels around to the front, but both sides hurting at the same time seems rare. Better to ask a doc than guess, bro.

Usually it is just on one side where the stone is moving. When my teenage son had it, he only complained of severe pain on his left lower back. But if you are feeling bad pain on both sides, please get an ultrasound done to be sure.

Beta, kidney pain usually catches you on one side of the lower back. You can drink warm water and some fresh barley water (jau ka paani) to soothe the system. But if both sides are aching terribly, do not wait at home, go see your family doctor.

It is generally a one-sided sharp pain that comes in waves. I find drinking coconut water helps flush out small crystals nicely. But please remember, if you have high fever or both sides are hurting severely, skip the home remedies and consult a doctor immediately.

Actually yaar, it mostly hurts on one side only depending on which kidney has the stone. I had a 5mm stone last year and the left side was completely jam-packed with pain, but the right side was totally fine. If both sides are hurting, you should probably visit the clinic quickly.

Usually not, it attacks only one side where the block is. If you are having double-sided back pain, it could be muscle strain or something else. Go get a simple sonography done and clear the doubt.
