Do kidney stones hurt in the kidney?

I have pain in my lower back, almost near my hip. My friend told me that kidney pain usually feels higher up, near the ribs. Do kidney stones hurt directly in the kidney area, or can the pain radiate to other places?

Actually, when the stone is just sitting quietly in the kidney, it often doesn't hurt at all. The discomfort usually begins when it starts its journey down. Stay positive, keep your mind calm, and let the doctor guide your healing path.

Honestly, I thought my actual kidney was exploding, but the doctor told me the real pain is when the stone gets stuck in the narrow tube outside the kidney. Wherever it is, it kept me up all night. Go get it checked before you lose sleep too.

Usually, stones sitting in the kidney are silent. The sharp flank pain only starts when the stone moves into the ureter and blocks urine flow. If you feel a dull ache in your upper back, it's a good idea to get an ultrasound to catch it early.

Haan babu, jab tak patthari kidney me chupchaap rehti hai tab tak dukh nahi hota. Jab woh wahan se khisakti hai, tabhi peeth ke peeche dard hota hai. Aap bilkul chinta mat karo aur jaldi se doctor babu se dawai le aao.

They don't always hurt while inside the kidney, but the pain can start suddenly when they try to leave. Because of my PCOS, I try not to guess where pelvic or back pain is coming from. It's always safest to get a professional scan done.

A stone in the kidney itself might only cause a mild, dull ache, but the real sharp pain happens when it moves. Since I manage my diabetes, I have to be careful with any pain to avoid kidney strain. Please consult a doctor and check your kidney health regularly.
