Do kidney stones get bigger?

I was diagnosed with a small kidney stone a couple of years ago, and my doctor suggested keeping an eye on it. I'm worried it might have grown larger since then. Do kidney stones get bigger over time if left untreated or not passed?

In my personal experience, yes, they can grow. Mine started as a tiny 3mm speck but grew to 8mm over a year because I didn't change my habits. I can only say what happened to me, so do consult a specialist.

Yes, they can grow if more mineral deposits accumulate. While drinking lime water and staying hydrated can help prevent small stones from growing, you must see a doctor if you have severe pain or if the stone is already quite large.

They definitely grow, and ignoring them is a huge mistake. I ignored a minor back ache for months, and by the time I went to the doctor, the stone had grown so big it required surgery. Please go get a checkup immediately before it worsens.

They absolutely can grow over time if the urine is highly concentrated with calcium or oxalate. It's very important to keep drinking plenty of water every day to keep things diluted. Regular ultrasounds will help you track their size safely.

They grow faster than my patience, honestly. I ignored my water targets and now my doctor says the stone has grown bigger, keeping me awake with back pain all night. Chug your water, guys.

They do grow if the underlying cause isn't addressed. Since I have thyroid issues, I know how metabolic changes can affect the body, so I always recommend regular blood tests and doctor follow-ups to stay on top of any stone formation.

I just got mine treated last month. It grew from 4mm to 7mm in less than six months because I was careless about my water intake. Definitely keep a close check on it with your doctor.

I panicked like crazy thinking my tiny stone would grow into a giant rock overnight! But my doctor reassured me that they grow very slowly and with proper hydration and diet, you can prevent them from getting bigger. So take a deep breath, it's manageable.
