Do kidney stones feel like period cramps?

I'm going through severe pain right now, and the doctor thinks it's a kidney stone. The pain is radiating to my lower abdomen and back, and it feels exactly like the worst period cramps I've ever had. Do kidney stones actually feel like period cramps for women?

I remember having kidney stones years ago and honestly, the ache in the lower back felt exactly like the cramps I used to get in my youth. Do not worry too much, this is a very common feeling when the stone is moving. Just visit your doctor and get the right medicine.

Yes, the deep, radiating pain in the lower abdomen and back can feel very similar to severe menstrual cramps. During such times of discomfort, practicing gentle deep breathing and keeping a warm bag on your back can help soothe the body. Please rest and don't exert yourself.

Omg yes! I literally thought my periods were coming early because the cramps were so bad in my lower back. But then the pain got way more intense on one side and it turned out to be a kidney stone. Definitely get an ultrasound if it feels different from your usual cycles.

Haan beti, bilkul waisa hi dukh hota hai peeth aur pet ke nichle hisse me. Hum samajh sakte hain bohot takleef hoti hai. Aap garm paani se sek lo aur thoda aaram karo, aur doctor babu ko zaroor dikha lena.

Yes, they totally mimic those bad cramp days! 😭 It is so confusing at first. But kidney stone pain usually gets much sharper on one side of your back. Drink lots of water and keep smiling, you will get through this! 👍

The radiating ache can indeed feel like menstrual pain. Drinking some warm ginger tea or using a hot water bottle might help ease the muscle spasms slightly. However, if the pain becomes sharp and unbearable, please don't rely on home remedies and consult a doctor immediately.

It is so hard when you are in that much pain and people around you just think it's normal period cramps. I cried for hours because the ache was so deep and terrifying. Please know that your pain is real, and it is completely okay to seek urgent medical help if you feel something is wrong.

Yes, they absolutely feel like severe period cramps, which is why it is so easy to misdiagnose. If you are having severe pain that doesn't go away with your usual painkillers, stop waiting and go get an ultrasound done today. Clear answers are better than guessing.

They do feel like severe period pain initially, which is why many women delay getting diagnosed. Don't waste time guessing and hoping it's just your cycle; if the pain is one-sided or accompanied by nausea, book a doctor's appointment immediately to get an ultrasound.

My sister told me her kidney stone felt exactly like her worst period cramps, but for me, as a guy, it was just this insane, sudden lower back pain that knocked me out. Either way, the crampy feeling is real. Best to get a doctor to check it out soon.
