Do kidney stones cause itching?

I've had kidney stones several times, and with my current episode, I'm experiencing intense itching all over my body. I'm wondering if this is a related symptom. Do kidney stones cause itching, or should I be looking for another reason?

Generally, kidney stones alone don't cause itching, but if your kidney function is affected, toxins can build up and cause skin irritation. I always advise focusing on a clean, low-sodium vegetarian diet and drinking plenty of water to help the kidneys filter better. Please get a renal function test to be sure.

For mild itching, a simple warm water bath or coconut oil might give some temporary relief, but if it is connected to kidney stones, it could mean your kidneys are struggling. Please don't rely only on home remedies for this. It is best to visit a doctor and get your blood tested.

I got super scared when I started itching all over while dealing with my stone, thinking my kidneys were failing! But my doctor told me it was just a mild allergic reaction to one of the painkillers I was taking. Once we changed the medicine, the itching stopped completely, so don't worry too much.

I totally get it, having to deal with itching on top of kidney stone discomfort must be so frustrating. It is really important to check if this is due to some medication or something else. Please reach out to your doctor so they can help you find some comfort.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! Sometimes we just get dry skin or a reaction to some tablets we are taking for the stones. Just mention it to your doc on your next visit so they can check it out. Keep drinking your water!

Honestly, between the constant back pain from the stone and now this random itching, I haven't slept in three days. I feel like a walking zombie scratching myself at 3 AM. If you find out why it happens, please let me know, but honestly, just go ask the doctor.

Please be very careful with this symptom. When I had kidney stones, I developed a severe infection that began affecting my kidney function, and itching was one of the warning signs. I highly recommend seeing a doctor immediately to run blood tests and check your creatinine levels.
