Do k cups cause cancer?
I drink coffee from K-cups every morning, and recently I saw some articles online raising concerns about them. Is there any truth to claims that K-cups might cause cancer? It's making me quite worried.

In our days, we used simple brass or steel filters for coffee. While these modern plastic pods might not directly cause cancer, returning to simple glass or metal containers is always safer for health.
There is no scientific proof that K-cups cause cancer. They are made of BPA-free plastic, so the chemical leaching risk is extremely minimal. Don't worry about it.
Even if they are BPA-free, heating plastic repeatedly is not ideal for our health. I always prefer freshly brewed loose coffee in steel filters for a natural, chemical-free life.
I researched this when I got my coffee machine. Modern pods use food-grade plastic that is safe under high heat. It is totally fine to use them daily, no need to panic.
They are tested and approved by food safety authorities, so there is no immediate risk. If you are still concerned, you can switch to reusable stainless steel pods which are also cheaper.
My oncologist colleague mentioned that FDA-approved plastics used in these pods do not leach carcinogenic compounds at brewing temperatures. However, reducing overall daily caffeine intake is better for cardiovascular health.
