Do it yourself liver cleanse?

I've been feeling a bit sluggish lately, and I read about 'liver cleanses' online. Some sources suggest DIY methods for detoxing the liver at home. Are these 'do it yourself' liver cleanse methods actually safe and beneficial?

I recently had grade 1 fatty liver and almost fell for those online DIY liver detox juice recipes. My doctor strictly told me to avoid them as they can cause severe diarrhea and gut issues. I just ate clean, cut down sugar, and my liver enzymes are normal now.

Please don't do these DIY cleanses. Your liver detoxifies itself naturally if you just drink enough water and avoid alcohol.

There is no such thing as a magical liver cleanse. A balanced diet with green vegetables, warm water with lemon in the morning, and active lifestyle is all your liver needs to stay healthy. Avoid processed oils and excessive painkillers.

With PCOS, I always look for ways to reduce inflammation, but I've learned that extreme detox diets can disrupt hormones. It's safer to avoid those viral olive oil and epsom salt cleanses and talk to a dietitian instead.

I know how stressful it is when your liver reports show high SGOT/SGPT, making you want to try anything to fix it quickly. But please don't punish your body with harsh juice fasts. Slowly building healthy eating habits is much gentler and safer.

My physician clearly explained that the liver is a self-cleaning organ. These commercial detox kits or home oil flushes can actually cause gallbladder irritation or electrolyte imbalances. The safest 'cleanse' is a low-fat diet and keeping your BMI in check.

Medically speaking, there is no scientific evidence supporting DIY liver flushes. In fact, some herbal mixtures can cause drug-induced liver injury. It's best to consult a gastroenterologist and get an ultrasound done if you suspect liver issues.
