Do i have dandruff or dry scalp?

My scalp has been very itchy and flaky recently, and I'm not sure if it's just dry skin or something else. There's a lot of white stuff. How can I tell if I have dandruff or just a dry scalp?

People will suggest putting lemon, curd, and what not on your hair, which can actually irritate your skin more. Better to see a dermatologist who can tell you exactly what it is.

If you have high sugar, dry skin and scalp issues are very common because of dehydration. Make sure you drink lots of water and monitor your levels alongside hair care.

I used to think mine was dry scalp and kept putting oil, which actually made my dandruff worse because the fungus feeds on oil. Switched to a ketoconazole shampoo and it cleared right up.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! If the flakes are white and tiny, it is probably just dryness from the changing weather, but oily yellow flakes mean dandruff.

Eating too many oily, deep-fried snacks might be triggering your scalp issues. Try reducing the parathas and sweets for a week, and see if the itchiness goes down.

Dry scalp feels tight and itchy all over, while dandruff usually comes with greasy flakes. Stop experimenting with random drugstore shampoos and visit a good dermatologist.

I ignored my itchy scalp thinking it was just dryness, and it turned into severe seborrheic dermatitis with hair loss. Please get it checked by a doctor before it spreads.

It is a very common issue, so don't worry. Try washing your hair with lukewarm water instead of hot water, as hot water strips away all natural oils.
