Do heart attacks hurt?

Hearing about heart attacks often, I'm not clear on the actual experience. Do heart attacks always involve severe pain, or can they present with different kinds of discomfort? I just want to be informed.

Yes, they can hurt a lot, but sometimes it is just a strange heavy feeling or a dull ache in the jaw or back rather than sharp pain. My grandmother barely felt typical chest pain, she just felt very tired and sweaty. Please go to a hospital immediately if you or someone else is feeling any unusual discomfort.

They definitely can, but as someone managing high BP, I know that 'silent' heart attacks with minimal pain also happen. Don't wait for unbearable pain to strike; even mild pressure, chest burning, or unexplained sweating are warning signs. Please go straight to the hospital emergency room now.

Yes, the pain can be severe, radiating to your arm, neck, or back, but it can also present as mild pressure. Active people sometimes ignore it thinking it's a muscle pull from working out, which is highly dangerous. Please do not ignore any chest pain; seek emergency medical care at a hospital immediately.

For me, it felt like an intense, crushing weight on my chest, almost like someone was squeezing my ribs, and the pain went up to my jaw. It was extremely painful and scary. If you are experiencing any chest pain or heavy pressure, please go to the nearest emergency hospital immediately.

They hurt, but not always like the dramatic clutching-the-chest scenes we see on TV. Sometimes it is just a nagging pain that feels like a heavy block sitting on your chest. If you are experiencing any such heavy pain or discomfort, please don't joke around—go get checked at a hospital immediately.
