Do girls need more sleep than boys?

My daughter always seems to need more sleep than my son, even though they are close in age. Is it generally true that girls require more sleep compared to boys as they grow up?

Haan na, I also feel women need thoda extra sleep because our bodies go through so many hormonal changes every month. Personally, if I don't get at least 8 hours of rest, I feel totally exhausted the next day. It is actually scientifically true also, as per some studies.

Humare ghar me to sabhi bahu-betiyan subah jaldi uth jati hain, par unhe aaram ki sabse jyada zaroorat hoti hai kyunki din bhar kaam karna padta hai. Sharir ko thik rakhne ke liye dhang se sona bahut zaroori hai. Kam se kam sat-aath ghante ki neend sabko milni hi chahiye.

Women's brains run a bit more complexly and multi-task extensively during the day, which requires slightly more recovery time during deep sleep. Incorporating 15 minutes of Pranayama or Yoga Nidra before bed can greatly improve the quality of rest for everyone. Listen to your body's natural clock.

Actually yaar, research says women need around 20 minutes of extra sleep compared to men because of their complex brain wiring and hormone cycles. My sister is always tired if she sleeps late, whereas I am fine with 6 hours. So yeah, it's a real biological thing, not just laziness.

If extreme fatigue is making someone sleep for 10-12 hours daily, don't just assume it's normal. It's better to spend 500-800 rupees on a basic thyroid and vitamin D test to check if there is an underlying deficiency. Proper planning and early testing can save you from high specialist fees later.

According to sleep researchers and what my general physician mentioned, women generally need about 11 to 20 minutes more sleep per night. This is primarily due to hormonal fluctuations during menstruation, pregnancy, and menopause, which can disrupt sleep quality. It is a biological necessity for physical and mental recovery.

Do not blindly trust general internet claims saying one gender needs more sleep than the other. Individual sleep requirements depend entirely on your age, activity level, and overall health status. If you are experiencing chronic fatigue or insomnia, consult a qualified physician rather than diagnosing yourself online.

No matter the gender, getting sufficient sleep of 7 to 8 hours is crucial for keeping insulin levels stable. Poor sleep patterns can cause sudden cortisol spikes, which directly mess up fasting blood sugar readings the next morning. Make consistent sleep and timely dinners your priority.
