Do fragrances cause cancer?

I've been trying to switch to more natural products lately, and I've heard some worrying things about chemicals in synthetic fragrances. Does using fragranced products, like perfumes or air fresheners, actually cause cancer?

With my hormonal issues, I try to avoid strong synthetic perfumes because they contain phthalates which can disrupt endocrine systems. While there's no direct proof they cause cancer, switching to natural essential oils feels safer.

There's no need to panic and throw away all your deodorants. High-end organic perfumes can be very expensive, so just use regular ones in moderation and apply them on clothes rather than directly on skin.

I was reading up on this and apparently, some cheap fragrances contain benzene derivatives which are known carcinogens. It is better to use mild, fragrance-free products if you have sensitive skin.

Look, everything in excess is bad. These synthetic sprays might cause allergies or breathing issues for some, but don't stress about cancer unless you are drinking the stuff.

When my daughter developed skin rashes, the pediatrician advised us to stop using strongly scented soaps and detergents. Even if they don't cause cancer, they definitely irritate young skin.
