Do foetuses sleep?

I'm pregnant and sometimes when the baby is quiet, I wonder what it's doing in there. Do foetuses actually sleep, just like born babies? What are their activity cycles like in the womb?

Yes, they sleep beautifully in the womb, often spending most of their time in deep rest. Listening to soft music and deep breathing helps create a peaceful environment for them to rest.

My obstetrician explained that by the third trimester, a fetus sleeps about 90 to 95 percent of the day. They even experience REM sleep, which is when dreaming occurs, just like newborn babies.

Yes, they spend a lot of time sleeping. If you are pregnant, just make sure to keep your regular checkups active and monitor your thyroid levels, as they are crucial for the baby's healthy development.

Yes, they do. I noticed that when I went for my daily gentle walks, the motion would actually soothe the baby to sleep inside, and they would start moving again once I sat down to rest.

They definitely do sleep, but does anyone else notice their baby starting to kick the moment you lie down to sleep? It makes me wonder if their sleep cycle is the exact opposite of mine!
