Do fibroids cause pain?

I've been experiencing a lot of pelvic discomfort and heavy periods recently. My doctor mentioned fibroids as a possibility. I want to know, do fibroids actually cause pain, or are they usually asymptomatic?

Yes, they definitely cause bad cramps and lower back pain, especially during periods. Keeping a heating pad handy really helps me manage the ache.

Beta, they can cause a lot of heavy, dragging pain in the lower abdomen. Along with your regular doctor visits, you can drink warm ginger water or use a hot water bag to soothe the muscles, but don't ignore the checkups.

I was researching this for my sister and found out that size matters a lot here. Small ones might not hurt at all, but larger ones can press on other organs and cause sharp pain or constant pressure.

Pain from fibroids shouldn't be ignored, especially if it is sudden or very severe. Please go get a proper ultrasound done because only a doctor can tell if the pain is due to fibroids or something else.

I have been having some dull ache in my pelvic area lately and I am quite scared. Do fibroids also cause pain during normal walking, or is it only during periods?
