Do diabetics sleep a lot?

My friend, who has diabetes, seems to be sleeping excessively these days, even taking long naps during the day. I was wondering if sleeping a lot is a common symptom or effect of having diabetes. Should he be concerned about this change in sleep?

I used to feel so incredibly exhausted and sleep for hours, then feel guilty for being 'lazy.' It was such an emotional battle until I realized my high sugar levels were causing this extreme fatigue. Please know you are not alone in feeling this way.

Sleeping too much can be due to thyroid, vitamin deficiencies, or high sugar. Don't listen to people online telling you to drink random herbal tea to boost energy. Go get a proper blood test done and consult your doctor.

Fluctuating blood sugar can absolutely wreck your energy levels and sleep cycles. When my tracker showed huge spikes, my sleep quality plummeted, making me want to nap all day. Tracking your meals alongside your sleep can help find the pattern.

Both high and low blood glucose levels can cause extreme fatigue, leading to increased sleepiness or daytime lethargy. It is an physiological response to the body not utilizing glucose efficiently. A physician can help adjust your medication to resolve this.

Haan beta, jab shareer mein sugar badhti hai toh bahut thakaan lagti hai aur bas sone ka mann karta hai. Aap thoda dhyan rakhiye aur apne khaane peene mein meetha kam kijiye. Kisi acche doctor se checkup jaroor karwa lijiye.

My uncle goes through this a lot; whenever his sugar levels are high, he just wants to sleep. It is like his body shuts down to cope with the fatigue. If you are experiencing this, a simple sugar check can clear up so much.

I have seen this question pop up many times in our group, and yes, fatigue is very common. When your body can't convert food to energy properly, you naturally feel like sleeping more. Keep your doctor informed so they can tweak your dose if needed.
