Do diabetics crave sweets?

My neighbour has diabetes, and he told me he struggles a lot with craving sweets, especially chocolates and mithai. I thought people with diabetes should avoid sweets, so I'm confused about why they would crave them so much. Is this a common experience for diabetics?

Yes, the body craves sweets when there is an imbalance in energy absorption. I have found that regular practice of Pranayama and mindful breathing helps calm the nervous system and reduces these sudden cravings. Try sitting quietly for five minutes when the urge strikes.

Our elders often say that eating a bit of jaggery is fine, but for diabetics, any sweet craving must be handled carefully. My doctor strictly advised that even natural sweets can spike levels if insulin is low. It is always best to trust your physician's advice on this.

I kept eating laddoos thinking it was just normal winter cravings, but it was actually uncontrolled diabetes. By the time I went to the clinic, my vision was blurry. Please, if you are craving sweets constantly, get a lab test done immediately.

They absolutely do, because the body isn't processing carbohydrates efficiently. Instead of sweets, try incorporating complex carbs like oats and high-fiber sprouts into your daily vegetarian diet. This keeps you full and prevents those sharp glucose drops.

Haan babu, sugar ki bimari mein meetha khane ka bahut mann karta hai kyunki sharir ko takat nahi milti. Hamare yahan log bhuna chana chabate hain jab aisa mann kare. Aap bas apna dhyan rakhiyega aur doctor babu ko dikha lijiye.
