Do diabetics bruise more easily?

My husband has diabetes, and I've noticed he gets bruises much more often than before, and they seem to last longer. Does diabetes make a person more prone to bruising, compared to someone without the condition? I'm a bit worried about it.

Oh absolutely, we get blue and purple marks even if we lightly bump into a table! It's just because our blood vessels are slightly delicate due to the sugar. Keep some ice handy and try to walk a bit more carefully, okay?

Due to poor blood circulation, skin healing becomes a bit slow in diabetics, leading to these bruises. I have found that gentle stretching and deep pranayama help improve overall blood flow over time. Do consult your doctor before starting any physical routines, though.

Yes, they do. Elevated blood glucose damages blood vessels over time, making them rupture easily under the skin. If you are noticing unexplained bruising, go get a complete blood workup done immediately.

Bro, I noticed this last year when even minor cricket ball hits left massive marks on my legs. Doctor said high sugar slows down skin repair and makes blood vessels weak. Keep your levels in check and the bruising reduces.

Yes, it is common due to compromised circulation. If your doctor allows, starting regular moderate walks can improve blood flow and help your body heal better. Just ensure you wear proper comfortable shoes so you don't get any cuts or bruises on your feet.

Yes, our skin gets quite sensitive and bruises easily because of sugar highs. It's the price we pay, but honestly, controlling those sweet cravings and keeping sugar levels low is the best way to keep your skin healthy.

Since PCOS can make me insulin resistant, I have read a lot about how insulin issues affect blood vessels and skin healing. It is true that diabetes makes you bruise more easily. It is always safer to talk to an endocrinologist if you notice too many marks.

I get so scared whenever I see a new mark on my hand, thinking it's some major complication. But actually, easy bruising is just a common side effect of diabetic skin and circulation issues. Let's just keep our doctors informed and stay safe.

Yes, high sugar levels can weaken blood vessels, which makes diabetics get bruises much faster and heal slower.

While easy bruising is indeed a known issue with diabetes, it can also point to other blood or clotting issues. Please do not assume it is just the sugar. Get a proper checkup and a blood test done immediately to find the exact reason.
