Do diabetes hurt?

My aunt was just diagnosed with diabetes, and she seems very worried. I was trying to understand her condition better; does having diabetes itself cause pain, or are there specific complications that lead to discomfort?

Usually, diabetes itself doesn't cause physical pain in the early stages, but high sugar can cause nerve damage later, which hurts a lot. My uncle always said to keep an eye on feet tingling, but our family doctor says maintaining diet is the ultimate way to prevent any pain.

Directly it doesn't hurt, but the pain of saying no to hot gulab jamuns definitely hurts your soul! Jokes apart, it only hurts physically if you let it affect your nerves over many years. Just keep it managed and you'll be fine.

Hey, don't stress too much about it. It doesn't actually cause daily physical pain unless there are complications like nerve damage. Just stay regular with your tests and everything will be totally under control.

Having thyroid issues myself, I know how these hormonal and metabolic things work. It might not hurt directly, but poor management can lead to joint or nerve aches. Regular blood tests and regular doctor follow-ups are absolute lifesavers here.

I used to have constant burning sensations in my feet when my sugar levels were touching 300. But once I got my HbA1c back to normal through proper medication and lifestyle changes, that pain completely vanished. So yes, uncontrolled sugar can hurt, but it recovers once you manage it.

It doesn't hurt physically at first, but checking your finger with those needles every day sure hurts a tiny bit! Honestly, just keep your glucose levels in check so you don't develop those annoying nerve pains later in life.

Physical pain only arises when we ignore what the body is trying to tell us. Keep your mind calm, eat clean, and take your medicines properly. If you stay positive and look after your health, diabetes won't cause you any trouble.
