Do cyst in ovaries cause pain?

I've been having a lot of lower abdominal pain, especially during my periods, and my gyno mentioned it might be ovarian cysts. I'm trying to understand more about it. Do cysts in ovaries always cause pain?

Yes, they can cause a dull ache in the lower stomach, especially on one side. Applying a hot water bag helps a lot to soothe the area when it hurts. But if the pain becomes very sharp or you get a fever, go to the hospital immediately.

Ovarian cysts can definitely cause discomfort and pain during periods or general movement. Please take some rest and don't exert yourself too much. It is best to visit a gynecologist for a quick ultrasound.

Drinking warm chamomile tea and taking a warm bath can help relax the pelvic muscles and reduce mild cyst pain. However, if you experience sudden, severe pain accompanied by vomiting, please do not wait at home. That requires urgent medical attention at a hospital.

I literally just had an ovarian cyst removed last month. I used to get a heavy, dragging pain on my left side that got worse during periods. If you are experiencing this, please get an ultrasound done because knowing the size of the cyst helps the doctor treat it easily.

I tried all kinds of herbal teas and castor oil packs to cure my ovarian cyst pain, and while they gave temporary comfort, the cyst only went away with proper doctor-prescribed medicine. Be gentle with yourself, use a heating pad, but keep your doctor in the loop.

Oh, they absolutely love to cause drama down there! Cysts can feel like a tiny balloon inflating inside you and hurting at the worst times. Don't worry, they are super common, but go get it checked so your doctor can pop that bubble of worry!
