Do cockroach feel pain?

We had a pest control issue with cockroaches recently, and my wife said they're just creepy crawlies that don't feel anything. I'm not so sure. Do cockroaches feel pain, like other animals?

Honestly, they have a very basic nervous system, so it's not like how we feel pain after a heavy leg day. But they definitely sense danger and try to run away fast. I just focus on keeping my kitchen clean so I don't have to deal with them while prepping my meals.

They probably feel less pain than I do when my alarm goes off at 6 AM after three hours of sleep. But seriously, seeing one fly across the room gives me a mini heart attack. Whether they feel pain or not, they certainly enjoy causing us mental agony!

Beta, God has made every small creature with some life, so they must be feeling something when we hit them. But what to do, we have to keep our homes clean for our children's health. Just keep your house clean and use simple chalk to keep them away.

Haan na, even I used to think about this sometimes when cleaning the loft. They don't have a complex brain like us, so they don't feel pain the same way, but darr toh unko bhi lagta hai. Best is to just keep the drains covered so they don't enter the house at all.

I actually asked a specialist about insect bites and allergies when I visited Lilavati Hospital last month. He mentioned insects don't have the same pain receptors as us, but they do react to physical damage. If you've been bitten or have allergies, you should consult a doctor rather than worrying about the bug's biology.

In our old scriptures, it is said every living being feels distress, even the tiny ones. Instead of hurting them, it is better to prevent them from coming inside. Try using a mix of baking soda and sugar in corners, or just spray some neem oil water near the doors.
