Do cavities hurt all the time?

I recently found out I have a small cavity, but it only hurts when I eat something very cold or sweet, not all the time. My mother thinks it should be hurting constantly if it's a cavity. Do cavities hurt all the time, or can the pain come and go?

In my experience, they don't hurt constantly, usually just when eating sweets or cold items. Keep up your active lifestyle and daily walks to keep your mind off it, but don't skip the dentist. A healthy body needs healthy teeth to function well.

Not at all, they are super random. Mine only acted up when I had my post-workout protein shakes or cold water. Don't let it ruin your diet and training routine, just get it patched up quickly.

No, they typically don't hurt constantly unless the decay has reached the pulp and caused an abscess. Usually, the pain is triggered by temperature changes or sweet foods. It is best to consult a professional to see how deep the cavity is.

No way, they are quiet until you try to enjoy a hot gulab jamun or ice cream! That's when they strike. Don't let a sneaky cavity ruin your cheat meals, go get it sorted.

If a cavity starts hurting all the time, it means the infection is quite deep. Usually, they only hurt when eating. You should definitely get it checked by a dentist before it leads to a severe infection.

They often stay quiet, hurting only when disturbed. Practicing deep breathing can help you stay calm when the pain flares up. But please remember, yoga cannot heal dental decay, so do visit your doctor.

I used to think a cavity meant constant, unbearable pain, so I panicked when I saw a dark spot. But it turns out they can just sit there without hurting at all. It's totally normal, so don't stress, just book a routine checkup.
