Do cavities cause pain?

I saw a tiny dark spot on my molar while brushing, and I'm worried it's a cavity. But it doesn't hurt at all, so does that mean it's probably not a cavity? Do cavities always cause pain?

They definitely do, especially when you drink cold water or eat sweet stuff. Mine started as a mild tickle and then turned into a full-blown headache. Save yourself the trouble and get it filled soon.

They don't cause pain in the initial stages when only the outer enamel is affected. My dentist explained that pain only starts once the decay reaches the dentin or the inner pulp where the nerves are. So, a painless tooth doesn't always mean it is healthy.

Yes, they can cause severe pain if left untreated. It is always best to get an X-ray done to see how deep the decay is. Don't wait for the pain to become unbearable before booking an appointment.

I totally get it, tooth pain can be absolutely exhausting and ruins your entire day. Sometimes they don't hurt at all, and suddenly one day they start throbbing. Please take care and get it checked so you can comfortable again.

It depends on the stage of decay. I log my health patterns and noticed that my 'random tooth sensitivity' was actually a developing cavity. If you're feeling sharp pain with hot or cold items, the cavity is likely deep enough to need attention.

Pain is actually a late symptom of tooth decay. In the early stages, cavities are completely asymptomatic, which is why routine dental visits are recommended. A professional assessment is the only reliable way to know for sure.

Don't rely on online blogs saying a cavity only hurts if it's serious. Everyone's pain tolerance and tooth structure are different. Only a qualified dentist with proper tools can tell you what is going on.

Haan bilkul, pain toh hota hai jab cavity deep ho jaye. Shuruat mein pata nahi chalta, par baad mein pareshani badh jaati hai. Isliye time pe doctor ko dikha lo na, kyun faltu mein dard jhelna.
