Do blood clots cause pain in the legs?

After a long international flight last week, my right calf feels quite sore and a bit swollen. My colleague told me it could be a blood clot, and that they often cause pain in the legs. Should I be worried about this type of pain?

While gentle stretching and regular walking are wonderful for leg circulation, a sudden, throbbing pain in one leg can sometimes indicate a clot. If the pain is accompanied by warmth or swelling, please do not try any deep stretching or yoga asanas right now. It is best to rest the leg and consult a doctor immediately.

Yes, a blood clot in the deep veins, known as DVT, typically causes pain, swelling, and redness in the affected leg. The pain often feels like a persistent cramp or soreness that doesn't go away. Since this can lead to serious complications if the clot moves, getting a medical evaluation and a Doppler scan is highly recommended.

I was actually reading about this yesterday because my uncle had some sudden swelling in his calf. From what I found, leg pain is one of the most common signs of a deep vein clot, and people often mistake it for a simple muscle pull. It's definitely better to get it checked than to just ignore it.

Absolutely, they do. If you have sudden pain in just one leg along with some swelling or skin that feels hot to touch, don't sit around waiting for it to get better. Go straight to an emergency room or a good vascular specialist. This isn't something you treat with a massage or a painkiller spray.

I don't know much about this, but my mother has some pain in her left leg that gets worse when she stands up. There is no swelling, but she says it feels very heavy. Could that also be a sign of a blood clot, or is it just normal tiredness? If anyone has experienced this, please share.
