Do bearded dragons sleep?

We just got a bearded dragon as a pet for my son, and I'm trying to learn as much as possible about them. I'm wondering, do bearded dragons actually sleep like other animals? And if so, how does one even tell?

Just like we need our solid 8 hours of rest to recover after a heavy workout session, pets also need their designated sleep time. Proper recovery and sleep cycles are crucial for every living being's metabolism. If your pet's sleep patterns look weird, check their tank lighting and temperature settings.

They sure do! They love to sleep, sometimes in the weirdest positions ever. Just make sure to turn off their vivarium lights at night so they can get their beauty sleep comfortably.

Bearded dragons are diurnal, meaning they sleep at night just like humans. While basic care sheets online help, if you observe sudden changes in their sleep patterns or overall energy levels, consulting a certified reptile veterinarian is the most reliable way to ensure their health.

I completely understand getting anxious over the smallest things when it comes to sleep and health patterns, I've spent endless nights worrying about such stuff. Yes, they definitely sleep, often for 10-12 hours in the dark. It is totally normal to feel concerned when you notice something new, don't worry too much.

They sleep very deeply, sometimes so quiet that you might get scared. I once worried about my kid's pet too. Just ensure their enclosure has a warm side and a cool side, and that the night temperature is correct, which is the most practical way to keep them comfortable.

Yes, they sleep, but if you notice yours sleeping constantly during daytime or looking completely lethargic, please don't ignore it. It is always best to consult a specialized exotic vet to check if there is an underlying issue. Safe is always better than sorry.
