Do babies sleep a lot when teething?

My 7-month-old has been quite fussy lately, and I think he's teething. I've also noticed he's sleeping more than usual during the day. Do babies typically sleep a lot more when they are going through the teething phase?

Don't believe random internet articles saying teething makes babies sleep for hours. Actually, the gum pain usually disrupts their sleep and makes them wake up more often. If your baby is unusually drowsy, verify with your pediatrician immediately.

My baby sister is teething right now and honestly, she is awake crying half the night. I don't think they sleep more, if anything they are just cranky and tired. Hope it gets easier for you guys!

Bhai, teething mein dard hota hai toh bache so nahi paate, cranky ho jaate hain. Agar aapka bacha bohot zyada so raha hai aur uth nahi raha, toh alag baat hai. Ek baar doctor ko dikha lena hi theek rahega.

Haan, teething ke time pain ki wajah se bache thak jaate hain, toh kabhi kabhi thoda extra so lete hain na. But mostly toh unki sleep disturb hi hoti hai. Ghabraane ki baat nahi hai, normal hai.

Teething is a physically exhausting phase for the little ones. Sometimes their bodies demand extra sleep to heal and cope with the gum irritation. Keep the bedroom calm, cool, and quiet to help them rest naturally.

Please be very cautious if your baby is sleeping excessively. When my baby was teething, I thought her lethargy was normal, but she was actually dehydrated from refusing milk due to sore gums. Please consult your doctor if they seem too weak.

While slight changes in sleep patterns are normal during teething, extreme drowsiness is not. For your child's safety, get them checked by a doctor to rule out any underlying viral infection or fever.
