Do babies feel pain during circumcision?

My wife and I are discussing circumcision for our newborn son for cultural reasons. We are very concerned about him feeling pain during the procedure. Do babies feel pain during circumcision, and what is done about it?

Hey, don't worry too much about this. Yes, babies do feel some pain, but doctors use local anesthesia nowadays to numb the area during the procedure. Just stay close to your little one and they will calm down very quickly after it is done.

Yes, they do feel a bit of a sting, but modern pediatricians are super gentle and use numbing gels or drops! Just give them some extra cuddles and feed them right after, they bounce back in no time! 😊

Please make sure you have this done by a qualified surgeon in a proper hospital setting. I once ignored a minor post-procedure redness in my nephew thinking it would heal on its own, and it turned into a nasty infection. Always keep your pediatrician in the loop for post-op care.

Don't trust random blogs claiming babies don't feel pain or that you can apply home oils to heal it. They definitely feel the pain, which is why a medical professional must use proper local anesthesia. Always verify the recovery steps directly with your pediatrician.

Dekho, thoda dard toh hota hi hai, par bache jaldi heal ho jaate hain. Doctors sunn karne ki dawa dete hain procedure ke time. Bas jo ointment doctor likh ke dein, use time pe lagate rehna.

They do feel pain, but you can manage it easily by following the doctor's instructions. Keep the diaper loose so it doesn't rub against the wound, and use the prescribed petroleum jelly or cream at every diaper change. It heals up in a few days.

Bache ko thoda takleef toh hota hai babu, par woh bahut jaldi bhool bhi jaate hain. Humare yahan toh doctor saab dhyan se sunn karke karte hain. Aap bilkul chinta mat karo, bas bache ko pyar se godi mein rakho.

Our pediatrician explained that babies have fully functioning nerve endings, so they do feel pain during circumcision. This is why standard medical practice now requires using a nerve block or topical numbing cream before the procedure. It keeps the discomfort to a bare minimum.
