Do antioxidants prevent cancer?

My mother always tells me to eat more fruits and vegetables because of the antioxidants. She believes they can prevent serious diseases like cancer. Is there strong evidence that antioxidants truly help in preventing cancer?

Instead of buying expensive imported antioxidant supplements and green tea which cost thousands every month, it is better to eat local seasonal fruits. Spend that saved money on regular whole body health screenings once a year.

They help protect your cells from damage, but they aren't a magic shield that completely stops cancer. Think of them as a supportive part of your daily diet, not a medicine or cure. Just focus on a clean lifestyle.

In our times, we didn't know these fancy words like antioxidants, we just ate home-cooked dal, roti, and fresh amla from the tree. Those simple habits have kept us healthy for decades. Focus on basic local food rather than packed pills.

A simple pure diet rich in fresh vegetables, along with deep breathing exercises, keeps the body's internal environment clean. True health comes when we reduce stress and allow the natural defense system of the body to work.
