Do antibiotics help kidney stones?

I've been dealing with kidney stone pain off and on for a while now. Sometimes, the pain gets really bad. I was curious if antibiotics have any role in treating kidney stones or helping with the pain, or if they are only for infections.

Antibiotics don't dissolve or flush out kidney stones at all. They are only prescribed if the stone has caused a secondary urinary tract infection. For the stone itself, you need specific medicines to relax the ureter and lots of water.

Antibiotics won't clear the stone. Instead, you should focus on dietary changes like reducing high-oxalate foods like spinach and tomatoes, and drinking fresh coconut water to help prevent stones naturally.

Actually yaar, antibiotics are useless for kidney stones unless you also have a painful UTI. Don't just pop them thinking the stone will melt. Better get an ultrasound done and see a urologist.

If your doctor allows, doing light walking can actually help gravity push the stone down the urinary tract. But don't rely on antibiotics for this; they only fight bacterial infections, not physical stones.

Bhaiya, kidney stone ke liye antibiotic dawai kaam nahi karti. Humare yahan toh log khoob sara paani aur neembu paani peete hain pathri nikalne ke liye. Doctor sahib se sahi dawai pooch kar hi khayein.

I completely understand how terrifying that sharp kidney pain can be. But please don't take antibiotics thinking they will relieve the pain or dissolve the stone; they are only meant for bacterial infections.

I manage my BP with strict checkups, and when I had a kidney stone, my doctor told me antibiotics are only for infections. Taking unnecessary antibiotics can affect your blood pressure medications, so please consult your doctor first.

I was just diagnosed with a small stone and my doctor gave me some tablets. Are antibiotics always part of the treatment, or is it only when there is severe pain or infection?

I had to skip all my favorite spicy foods when I had a kidney stone! Trust me, antibiotics won't melt the stone. Just drink liters of water and barley water, and stay away from heavy food till it passes.

No, they don't help with the stones directly! Just keep drinking lots of water and stay positive. The stone will pass soon, just make sure to visit a doctor for the right painkillers.
