Do amoxicillin help with pain?

I've been prescribed Amoxicillin for a throat infection, and my throat is quite painful. I was wondering if this medicine primarily targets the infection, or if it also helps directly with the pain I'm feeling?

No, amoxicillin will not reduce pain; it is purely for bacterial infections. If you have mild pain, some light stretching or walking might help, but please consult a doctor for proper guidance.

Bro, amoxicillin is an antibiotic, not a painkiller! It only fights bacteria, so it won't do anything for your pain directly. Better to ask a doc for a proper pain relief tablet.

According to most medical trackers and databases, amoxicillin is strictly an antibiotic and has zero analgesic properties. If you are experiencing pain, you should consult a doctor to get the right pain management prescription.

Please do not self-medicate with amoxicillin for pain. I once took left-over antibiotics without advice and ended up with a severe stomach infection and resistance issues; please see a doctor immediately.

When I had a severe toothache, my doctor prescribed amoxicillin to treat the infection, but he also gave me a separate painkiller because the antibiotic itself does not stop pain. That was just my experience.
