Do allergies affect asthma?

I have seasonal allergies, and sometimes when my allergies act up, I feel like my breathing also gets worse. My doctor mentioned a connection, but I want to understand it more. Can allergies actually affect asthma symptoms and make them worse?

Absolutely, allergic asthma is very common. Dust or pollen can irritate your airways and trigger an attack, so keeping an inhaler handy during allergy season is always a smart move.

Yes, they definitely do. I have to keep my house completely dust-free because any seasonal allergy instantly triggers my asthma, so regular vacuuming and clean air are essential.

Hey, they definitely do, but don't stress too much about it. Just try to avoid dusty areas and wear a mask when you go out in heavy pollution, and you will be fine.

Allergens like pollen, dust mites, and pet dander are primary triggers for bronchial inflammation. If your asthma is worsening during allergy season, it is best to consult your pulmonologist for a preventative plan.

They surely do, especially when cold weather or certain foods trigger reactions. I always make sure to avoid cold drinks and ice creams if my throat starts feeling itchy.
