Do all statins cause muscle pain?

My doctor prescribed statins for my cholesterol, but my uncle stopped taking his because he had severe muscle pain. I'm a bit hesitant to start them now. Do all statins cause muscle pain, or is it something that only happens with certain types or in some people?

I completely understand your worry, as I was also terrified of starting my cholesterol medication due to this fear. However, my doctor reassured me that only a small percentage of people actually experience muscle aches.

Haan, thoda darr toh lagta hai, but sabko muscle pain nahi hota na. If you feel any mild aches, just talk to your doctor and they can easily change the dosage or try a different statin.

Haan na, people talk about this side effect a lot on the internet. But actually, my father has been taking them for years without any pain, so it's not the case for everyone.

While myalgia is a documented side effect, most patients tolerate statins very well. It is best to consult your cardiologist if you experience persistent pain, as a simple adjustment can usually resolve it.
