Do all cavities hurt?

I have a tiny black spot on my tooth, but it doesn't hurt at all. My friend said all cavities eventually hurt, but mine hasn't. So, do all cavities really cause pain, or can some be painless?

Definitely not! They silently sit there planning their attack, and only start hurting when you bite into your favorite sweet on a Sunday night.

No, they don't hurt in the beginning. I ignored a tiny black spot because there was no pain, and ended up needing a painful root canal later. Get it checked early!

It is so stressful to realize you have a cavity even when there's no pain. I was so anxious before my dental visit, but finding it early actually saved me from a lot of pain.

At my dental hospital, the doctor showed me that early decay only affects the enamel where there are no nerves. You must ask your dentist to do an X-ray to find them.

Most early-stage cavities are completely painless. Keep checking your molars in the mirror for dark spots and brush twice daily to stop them from growing.

My dentist says I have two cavities but I don't feel any pain at all. Has anyone else experienced this? I am so scared of getting fillings done.

In my experience, I had a cavity for over a year with zero pain. I only found out during a routine scaling session at the clinic.
